Dirty Hippy Mild

A tasty session beer.
This is the third incarnation.

Type: All grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
31 HCU (~16 SRM)
Bitterness: 22 IBU
OG: 1.039 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 4.0% v/v (3.1% w/w)
Water: Calcium Chloride, gypsum.
Grain: 4 lb. Munton Maris Otter
4 lb. Paul's mild
0.5 lb. Paul's crystal 50L
6 oz. Belgian chocolate
Mash: 65% efficiency
60 minutes at 156° F. I use a minimal sparge and stop collecting wort early, hence the low efficiency.
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.033 6.5 gallons
Irish Moss added at T-15 minutes. Up to a half pound of sugar can be used if desired gravity is not reached. Note the short boil and 5.5 gallon batch size.
Hops: 1 oz. Goldings (4.9% AA, 60 min.)
0.5 oz. Goldings (4.9% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs WLP002 English Ale
Carbonation: Low carbonation. Preferable to keg- or cask-condition this beer, and serve through a sparkler Northern-style.
