Chewy Imperial Stout

This stuff looks like motor oil but drinks very smooth

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.25 gallons
Color:
173 HCU
Bitterness: 21 IBU
OG: 1.070 FG: 1.025
Alcohol: 5.8% v/v (4.6% w/w)
Grain: 8 oz. American Munich
1 lb. American chocolate
1 lb. American black patent
8 oz. Rolled oats
Steep: This was a lot of grain to steep, I probably should have backed it off a bit.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.105 3.5 gallons
9 lb. Light malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Galena (aroma)
Yeast: British Ale Wyeast W1098
Log: pitched yeast about 6PM, this thing woke me at 4AM coming through the top of the air lock. use a blow-off tube!
racked at one week and again 20 days later.
Carbonation: primed with 4 oz corn sugar.
Tasting: this beer took 6 months in the bottle before it really came together, was even better at 10 months.
