Cologne Kölsch Style Ale

Bitterness: 19 IBU
OG: 1.043 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 4.5% v/v (3.5% w/w)
Grain: 12 oz. American Munich
4 oz. American crystal 10L
Steep: Steeped grains in separate pot for 30 minutes at 150 degrees while main pot was raised to boil.
Boil: 80 minutes SG 1.078 3 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
added 1 teaspoon Irish moss at 15 minutes remaining in boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Perle (8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Tettnanger (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast #2565 Kölsch smack pack
Log: Added three pints of ice to aid cooling of wort.
Racked to Better Bottle after one week.
After one week in secondary added one tablespoon gelatin. Let set at 45 degrees for another week. Beer was very clear.
Carbonation: primed with 5 oz corn sugar
Tasting: good lawnmower beer
