Obsession Pale Ale

The spawn of a week's worth of brewing obsession. The level of obsession is highlighted in the hop schedule. Originally was an all-grain recipe, but was calculated into a partial mash recipe.

Bitterness: 35 IBU
OG: 1.062 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 6.7% v/v (5.3% w/w)
Water: gypsum
Grain: 2.86 lb. American 2-row
0.86 lb. Wheat malt
1.14 lb. American Vienna
1.71 lb. German Munich
4.6 oz. Belgian Special B
Mash: 70% efficiency
Put grain in 5 quarts of water. Hold at 133F for 30 min. Add 2 quarts of boiling water. Hold at 155F for 30-45 minutes. Then bring to 167F. Sparge with 5 quarts of boiling water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.114 3 gallons
4 lb. 8 oz. Light malt extract
2 tsp. Irish Moss
Hops: .5 oz. Centennial (9.3% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Perle (7.7% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Centennial (9.3% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4.1% AA, 45 min.)
.25 oz. Centennial (9.3% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4.1% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: California Ale Yeast
Log: 1 oz Willamette (dry)
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Dried Malt Extract: 8.06 oz. for 5 gallons @ 68°F
