Yes Dear!

The wife is always asking for something,,, Not so bitter! something smoother with a hoppy finish without the bitter. so this is my attempt.

Beer: Yes Dear! Style: American Amber Ale
Type: All grain Size: 5.00 gallons
Color:
16 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 37 IBU
OG: 1.043 FG: 1.003
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Grain: 6 lb. 8 oz. American 2-row
8 oz. American victory
4 oz. British amber
8 oz. American crystal 40L
2 oz. Belgian Special B
Mash: 75% efficiency
strike at 153°F, hold at that temp for 1 hour, near constant re-circulation of 4 gallons mash water. at 1 hour collect roughly 3 gals sweet wort, and sparge out with 2.5 gal 170°F sparge water. collect enough for a 4.5 gal boil.
Boil: 1 hour minutes SG 1.048 4.5 gallons
boil 4.5 gallons wort adding hop additions at specified times. Irish moss in last 5 min. of boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Motueka (aroma)
Yeast: Muntons dry yeast, started a day previous in a .030 SG mash made from 1 cup DME and 1 quart water boiled for 20 min cool to 75°F and pitch. spin and aerate often
