American Blonde Ale

Only boil 3.3 pounds of extract ... add the other can after the boil.
This boosts hop utilization so the actual IBU value is 20, not what it says on the report.

Brewer: Darrin Auxier Email: -
Beer: American Blonde Ale Style: American Blonde
Type: Extract Size: 5 gallons
Color:
8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 15 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.130 2 gallons
6.6 lb. Light malt extract
I only boiled half of the extract, the other half was added at the end of the boil. This is to reduce carmelization and also increases hop utilization.
Hops: .9 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: 1056 American Ale Yeast
Log: OG : 1.0527
