I'll be Bock

A nice malty sweet lager for winter enjoyment.

Type: All grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
17 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 26 IBU
OG: 1.058 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 5.6% v/v (4.4% w/w)
Water: Tapwater
Grain: 8 lb. German Vienna
3 lb. German Munich
4 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
1 oz. Dehusked Carafa II
2 oz. Acidulated Malt
Mash: 75% efficiency
Single infusion mash at 153°F for 60 minutes. Add 1 gallon decoction to 1 gallon boiling water, bring all to boil and reintroduce to mash for 165° mash out for 10 minutes. Continuous sparge with 170°F water to collect 7.5 gal in brewpot.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.042 7.5 gallons
Hops: 1.5 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 10 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 2633 from a previous Oktoberfest batch.
Log: Ferment 10-14 days at 49°F. Bring to room temp (64°F) for 2 day diacetyl rest. Lager 30 days at 35°F.
