Screamin' Eagle - India Brown Ale

Big brown body, snow white head, and a huge hop bite and aroma from several additions of Falconer's Flight.

This one just screams 'MURRICA!!!

Alcohol: 7.0% v/v (5.5% w/w)
Water: Tapwater with 1 Tbs 5.2 Stabilizer and 1 Tbs gypsum added to mash.
Grain: 10 lb. American 2-row
8 oz. American victory
8 oz. American crystal 60L
8 oz. American chocolate
5 oz. Flaked oats
Mash: 80% efficiency
Single infusion at 150°F for 60 minutes. Mashout via 5 quart decoction added to 5 quarts boiling water, brought to boil and reintroduced to mash and held for 10 minutes. Continuous sparge with 170°F water to collect 7.8 gallons in the brewpot (extra volume to account for liquid loss in hop trub).
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.050 7.8 gallons
1 lb. Brown sugar
Add brown sugar last minute of boil. Add 5 oz aroma hops, and allow a 15 minute rest, stirring occasionally before cooling.
Hops: 1 oz. Falconer's Flight (11.4% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Falconer's Flight (11.4% AA, 10 min.)
4 oz. Falconer's Flight (11.4% AA, 5 min.)
3 oz. Falconer's Flight (aroma)
Yeast: Safale US-05 primary cake from previously brewed IPA.
Log: Ferment at 62°F. 7-10 days primary, 14 days secondary (with 3 additional oz Falconer's Flight dry hops).
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Keg: 9.5 psi @ 46°F
