Rat Hole Stout

A hoppy, Pacific NW style stout.
Similar to Rogue Shakespeare Stout.
This is an update to "Silent Bob Stout"
Different water, different hopping schedule. Higher OG.
Rats chewed a hole through the bag and got into the grains.

210 HCU
Bitterness: 62 IBU
OG: 1.074 FG: 1.024
Alcohol: 6.4% v/v (5.1% w/w)
Water: Calcium carbonate in mash 1 tsp,
In Sparge, 1 tsp

2 Gal Wal-Mart Spring Water (Pulaski and Garland Co. Ark.)
6 Gal Wal-Mart Drinking Water (Central Arkansas Water)
Grain: 10 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. British crystal 50-60L
1 lb. British chocolate
1 lb. Roasted barley
1 lb. Flaked barley
Mash: 74% efficiency
156°F for 60 min. 1qt water per pound of grain. Sparge with 5 gallons water at 170°F
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.057 6.5 gallons
Irish moss at 15 min
Hops: 1.5 oz. Cascade (7.8% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (7.8% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (7.8% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (7.8% AA, 5 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
1 oz. Cascade (Mash Hops) (aroma)
Yeast: 1084 Irish Ale (1qt Starter)
Log: Primary fermentation 2 weeks
No Secondary.
Carbonation: Bottle Condition with 3/4 cup corn sugar
Tasting: Very thick and gassy, use less corn sugar to prime next time. Rich, bold taste. Very intense.
