17 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 38 IBU
OG: 1.038 FG: 1.021
Alcohol: 2.2% v/v (1.8% w/w)
Water: 1.5 tsp calcium sulfate.
Grain: 5 lb. American 2-row Breiss Pale Ale
1 lb. British amber (home made briess)
1 lb. American crystal 15L(homemade)
Mash: 75% efficiency
4 hour 150 to 160. Candy sugar dumped hot. 4 hour mash.
REMEMBER! the caramel will be unfermentable as dark as it is so the numbers will be higher , but I still got 1.037, so the fg will be slightly higher.
Boil: 70 minutes SG 1.038 6.1 gallons
1 lb. Belgian candi sugar (Homemade)
Altitude 472 ft . 50 Hg
Hops: 1 oz. Challenger (8% AA, 70 min.)
1 oz. Challenger (8% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Challenger (aroma)
Yeast: Danstar Windsor. Seams to be fine so far!
Log: 3.5 days in primary. good ferm profile. in the fridge.
6 days in fridge at 40f
Just bottled at fg of 1.021after losses, 5 gals
Due to the individuality of yeast, heavily caramalized sugars, trub/ yeast etc. it results in more than 2.2% alc.
Carbonation: Shot for 2 vols with .5 cup invert sugar.
Tasting: So far so good, of course lost a lot of hop.
