Type: Partial mash Size: 24 liters
Color:
6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 19 IBU
OG: 1.059 FG: 1.006
Alcohol: 6.8% v/v (5.3% w/w)
Grain: 2kg Belgian Pilsner
500g Wheat malt
350g Belgian Munich
Mash: 65% efficiency
Mash in 6 liters at 64ºC for 90 minutes
Mash-out at 77ºC
Sparge in 4 liters at 75ºC for 15 minutes
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.054 26 liters
500g Cane sugar
1.7kg Light dry malt extract
5ml (1 tsp) tablespoon of irish moss after 75 minutes of boil
Rehydrate in warm water before for best results.
Put the hops without bags as I did not have enough hops. Left the hops until trasferred to the fermentation vessel.
Hops: 75g Hallertauer Hersbrucker (2.8% AA, 60 min.)
25g Hallertauer Hersbrucker (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 3724 - Belgian Saison
Made starter from 1 liquid package:
- 1 liter wort for 1.5 days
- 1 liter of wort for 1 day
Carbonation: 3.2 volumes Cane Sugar: 218g for 23 liters @ 28°C
