Michaels RED Temper

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
24 HCU (~13 SRM)
Bitterness: 18 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: Boil 5.75 Gallons of water and let cool to 170 degrees.
Grain: 8 oz. American crystal 120L
1 oz. American chocolate
Steep: Steep specialty grains for 20 minutes. Remove bag without squeezing.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.043 5.75 gallons
6.6 lb. Light malt extract
Boil 6.6 lbs light LME and 1 oz. Willamette hops for 55 minutes.

Now add last oz. of Willamette hops (Aroma Hops) for the remaining 5 minutes of the boil.

Terminate boil and immediately cool wort to 70 deg with immersion chiller or other method.

Transfer wort to Primary.

Hops: 1 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: Pitch WL WLP060 American Ale at 70 deg.
