New Gate Lager

Jens wants a lager. Before we mess with decoction and cold fermentation, let's try doing this one with single-step infusion and a "lager yeast" that will ferment at warm temperatures

Type: All grain Size: 45 liters
Color:
3 HCU (~3 SRM)
Bitterness: 31 IBU
OG: 1.044 FG: 1.049
Alcohol: -
Water: 15g gypsum
Grain: 9kg German Pilsner
Mash: 70% efficiency
Single stage mash. Shoot for 152F
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.042 48 liters
2 tabs whirlfloc (Irish Moss substitute)
Hops: 75g Spalt (4.1% AA, 60 min.)
25g Cascade (5.8% AA, 60 min.)
30g Saaz (3.75% AA, 15 min.)
60g Saaz (aroma)
Yeast: 1 WLP810 White Labs San Francisco Lager Yeast
Log: Pitched yeast at 15:30, 1dec12. Evident fermentation the following morning. OG = 1.044. Quantity = 45 liters.
