brown mule

This is my version of Abita Turbodog. It's a really nice, light, very drinkable dark ale. Even a non dark beer drinker will enjoy a few these after work with guys or with a steak off the charcoal grill.

Alcohol: 8.8% v/v (6.9% w/w)
Grain: .25 lb. American 2-row
.25 lb. American crystal 120L
.25 lb. American chocolate
Steep: Steep all grains in a sack for 60 minutes at 150 degrees then rinse sack with 170 degrees water bringing volume up 4 gallons.
Boil: 60 minutes minutes SG 1.049 4 gallons
5 lb. Light malt extract
Hops: .50 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
.50 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: german alt yeast White labs
Carbonation: 2.5 volumes Corn Sugar: 2.30 oz. for 2.5 gallons @ 74°F
