6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 20 IBU
OG: 1.046 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 4.1% v/v (3.2% w/w)
Water: None, city water
Grain: 7 lb. 0 oz. American 2-row
6 lb. 0 oz. American 6-row
1 lb. 0 oz. American crystal 40L
5 lb. 0 oz. Flaked corn
Mash: 72% efficiency
MI - 3 gallons/ 175 deg water/ 132 deg rest/ 30 mins
Cereal Mash - 5 qts water, corn, 1# 2 row/ 175 deg water/ rest for 10 mins then bring to boil
Add cereal mash after MI/ 150 deg rest/ 90 minutes
MO- 2 gals/ 190 deg water/175 deg rest/ 15 minutes
Batch sparge to collect 13 gallons
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.039 13 gallons
IM at 10 minutes
Hops: .5 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast Bohemian Lager- 1/2 gallon starter
Log: Preboil 1.052
Added extra gallon water to conical to bring SG down to 1.054
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Corn Sugar: 10.0 oz. for 11 gallons @ 65°F
Actually gonna keg 5 gallons and bottle the rest.
Tasting: Matt was wanting a Schlitz clone- this my attempt at it!
This turned out an excellent beer, but doesn't taste like Schlitz..;)
