Pale Force Ale

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
10 HCU (~7 SRM)
Bitterness: 33 IBU
OG: 1.048 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: I have great tasting soft well water, so all I did was add some Burton Salts and Gypsum. I boiled extra water beforehand to add to top off the wort after brewing.
Grain: 4 oz. American crystal 20L
4 oz. American crystal 40L
Steep: Brought water to 167°, turned off heat, added grains in steeping bag, covered pot, let sit for 20 min.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.089 3 gallons
7 lb. Light malt extract
30 minutes into boil add 1tsp. Irish Moss, 1 tsp. Burton Water Salts, 2 tsp. gypsum, 2 tsp. yeast nutrient.
Hops: 1 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Nugget (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs California Ale WLP001

Carbonation: 2.5 volumes Keg: 11.2 psi @ 38°F
