The Wife's Beer

This recipe was developed for my wife
who likes a litghter colered and milder
flavored beer.

Beer: The Wife's Beer Style: English Light Mild
Type: Extract Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
5 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 12 IBU
OG: 1.049 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: R/O Water.
Boil: minutes SG 1.108 2.5 gallons
6 lb. Light dry malt extract
1 Tsp Irish Moss at begining of boil
Hops: 1 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Danstar Nottingham Dry Yeast
Carbonation: Bottle carbonated using Cooper's tablets.
Tasting: Add in the Hallertau hops after 30 minutes and then diluting just before bottling with 1 gallan of boiled and cooled water. This should provide a lighter beer that still have some flavor.
